as of May 7, 2025, no one in the US may board a domestic flight without a real ID or valid passport. If you do not have one yet, please make plans to go get one. Appointments at the DMV are made 90 days in advance; i suggest that you start checking the webiste around 7 am and refresh frequently through 10 am. Appointments are not released state-wide at one time, but they come up, city by city, throughout the morning. So, keep at it, be patient and make youself an appointment. They do text for confirmation, and if you don't respond in fifteen minutes, your appointment is canceled, so keep your cell phone handy! You do not have to have a Real ID if you have a valid passport. However, to leave the country, your Passport cannot expire within six months of your departure date, so check your expiration dates and get your passport renewed if it is getting close.
